FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many dogs do you take on each walk?

We take no more than 6 dogs on each group walk.

How do you transport the dogs?

We have a specially equipped van which has cages in the back. Each cage has plenty of blankets to make the ride as comfy as we can.

Will you walk the dogs off their leads?

With your permission, we will walk your dog off the lead, as we think it is much more fun for them!

Are you insured?

We are fully insured including key cover. Our insurance cover note is available on request.

Have you had any aggressive dogs on walks?

All dogs are initially walked on a trial basis to ensure that their behaviour towards other dogs is satisfactory. We don’t take aggressive dogs on our walks.

What happens if there is an emergency?

Before we take your dog for a walk we ask you to fill out a contract which covers emergency contact details including a separate contact number other than your own.

If the emergency contact is not available, Hove Dog Walking reserves the right to consult with a veterinary surgeon and then make a decision which is in the best interest of the animal. The client is responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred while pets are in the care of Hove Dog Walking.

Do you take bitches in season?

No. Hove Dog walking will never walk a bitch that is in season.

Do your services cater for all dog breeds?

We take each dog on its own merit, not on reputation of particular breeds. We might need to allocate dogs to either the morning or afternoon walk to make sure the
group is compatible. We will come and meet all potential clients before we undertake any work and each new dog is subject to a trial period. Any instances of aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated and those dogs will not be able to come on our walks in the future.

We are also unable to walk any male dog over the age of 1 year who hasn’t been castrated.
